About Data Forge Advisory

Data Forge Advisory LLC is a product-focused technology company building modern data-driven platforms. Alongside advisory work, we invest heavily in internal product development, creating scalable systems that blend software engineering, analytics, and real-world business use cases.

One of our core products, BackMyPlay, is a marketplace platform designed to connect athletes, teams, and supporters through transparent, technology-driven sponsorship models.

About the Role

We are seeking a Python Site Development Intern to join our Product Development Team. This role focuses on building and improving internally developed software products and is not a consulting position.

You’ll work directly with company leadership and engineers on real production systems, gaining hands-on experience in Python web development, backend services, and product architecture.

This position is ideal for a student seeking meaningful software engineering experience as part of a university co-op or internship program.

What You’ll Do

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of a Python-based Django web application marketplace

  • Build and refine site functionality, backend services, and data flows

  • Work with Django-based systems and supporting data stores

  • Participate in product planning, architecture discussions, and technical reviews

  • Collaborate closely with engineers and leadership on feature development and iteration

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience with Python (academic or personal projects welcome)

  • Familiarity with web development concepts; Django experience is a plus

  • Interest in product development and real-world software systems

  • Strong communication skills and willingness to learn

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a small, fast-moving team

Why This Internship

  • Paid internship at $18/hour

  • Real ownership over meaningful product features

  • Direct exposure to startup-style product development

  • Flexible schedule that works around academic commitments

  • Experience working on a live, growing platform—not mock projects
